Description
The Lancia Stratos Group 5 was a racing car built for the 1976 World Championship for Makes. It was based on the Lancia Stratos rally car, but with significant modifications to make it suitable for racing. The car was designed by Dallara and powered by a mid-mounted, 2.4-liter V6 engine producing over 490 horsepower. The bodywork was made of lightweight materials, and the car featured advanced aerodynamics with a large rear wing and an air dam at the front. The Lancia Stratos Group 5 was highly successful, winning three races and finishing third overall in the championship. However, it was later banned from racing due to new regulations that favored production-based cars.
