Description
The Porsche 914 was a mid-engined sports car produced by Porsche from 1969 to 1976. It was developed jointly with Volkswagen, which sold a similar model under the name VW-Porsche 914. The 914 was available with four-cylinder engines ranging from 1.7 to 2.0 liters, and a six-cylinder 2.0-liter engine was offered in the 914/6. The car’s styling was controversial at the time, with its long, flat hood and pop-up headlights, but it has since become a classic design. The Porsche 914 was also successful on the racetrack, winning the 2.0-liter class at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1971 12 Hours of Sebring.
