Description

The Mercedes-Benz 500 E was a high-performance luxury sedan produced from 1990 to 1995. It was a joint project between Mercedes-Benz and Porsche and was known for its exceptional performance and handling. The car was powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 322 horsepower, and it was capable of reaching a top speed of 160 mph.

The 500 E was a special car for its time, as it combined the luxury and comfort of a Mercedes-Benz sedan with the performance and driving experience of a sports car. Its handling and stability were particularly noteworthy, thanks in part to its rear-wheel drive and four-wheel independent suspension.

The 500 E was produced in limited numbers, with only 10,479 units built over the course of its five-year production run. It was a popular choice among automotive enthusiasts and was considered one of the best performance sedans of the 1990s.

The 500 E also served as the basis for the E60 AMG, which was produced from 1993 to 1995. This model was even more powerful, with a 6.0-liter V8 engine producing 381 horsepower. The E60 AMG was also limited in production, with only 126 units built. Both the 500 E and E60 AMG have become highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
