Description
The Lotus Sport Elise is a high-performance version of the Lotus Elise sports car, produced by the British automaker Lotus from 2006 to 2011. It was designed to offer an even more focused and track-oriented driving experience than the standard Elise.
The Sport Elise featured a number of enhancements over the standard Elise, including a more powerful engine, stiffer suspension, and larger brakes. Its lightweight construction and aerodynamic bodywork also contributed to its impressive performance.
The Sport Elise was powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 217 horsepower and 158 lb-ft of torque. It had a top speed of 150 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.
In addition to its performance upgrades, the Sport Elise also featured a number of interior and exterior enhancements, including a new front splitter, rear spoiler, and lightweight racing seats. It also had a more aggressive exhaust note, thanks to a specially-tuned exhaust system.
Production of the Sport Elise ended in 2011, when Lotus introduced an updated version of the Elise called the Elise S. The Sport Elise remains a popular choice among Lotus enthusiasts and drivers who value its combination of agility, speed, and style.
