Description
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL IWC Schaffhausen is a limited-edition version of the iconic 300 SL sports car produced by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with the Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen. It was introduced in 2013 as a tribute to the original 300 SL “Gullwing” coupe, which was produced from 1954 to 1957.
The 300 SL IWC Schaffhausen featured a number of exclusive design elements, including a special “designo magno alanite grey” paint finish, polished stainless steel trim, and distinctive red accents. It also had a unique interior, with red leather seats and black diamond-patterned alcantara upholstery.
Under the hood, the 300 SL IWC Schaffhausen was powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produced 583 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. It had a top speed of 199 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
In addition to its impressive performance and style, the 300 SL IWC Schaffhausen was also notable for its limited production run of just ten units worldwide. Each unit was also accompanied by a matching IWC Schaffhausen watch, further emphasizing the collaboration between the two luxury brands.
The 300 SL IWC Schaffhausen remains a highly sought-after collector’s item among automotive and watch enthusiasts alike, thanks to its combination of classic styling, modern performance, and exclusive design features.
