Description
The Porsche 935/78 is also known as the “Moby Dick” due to its elongated body shape. It was a Group 5 racing car built by Porsche in 1978, designed to compete in the World Sportscar Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car was powered by a 3.2-liter, flat-six engine with twin turbochargers, which produced around 845 horsepower. The 935/78 was one of the most powerful racing cars of its time and could reach top speeds of over 220 mph. It achieved its greatest success at the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it finished in eighth place overall and first in its class. Only two 935/78s were ever built, making it a rare and highly sought-after collector’s item.
