Description

Audi and Lancia were two of the most successful manufacturers in the short-lived but legendary Group B era of rally racing in the mid-1980s. Audi’s Quattro, introduced in 1980, was the first four-wheel-drive car in rallying and proved to be dominant, winning the championship in 1982 and 1984. Lancia responded with its 037 in 1983 and the Delta S4 in 1985, both mid-engine cars with innovative technologies. The competition between Audi and Lancia was intense, with each company pushing the limits of what was possible in terms of performance and technology. The era came to an end in 1986 after a series of accidents, but the legacy of these two companies in rallying is still felt today.
