Description

The Hudson Hornet was a full-size car produced by the Hudson Motor Car Company from 1951 to 1954. It was named after the Hornet, a type of wasp that is known for its speed and agility. The car was a major success both on the racetrack and in the showroom, thanks to its powerful “Twin-H” straight-six engine and innovative “step-down” design, which lowered the floor of the passenger compartment to create a lower center of gravity and improve handling. The Hornet was also known for its stylish looks and luxurious features, such as power steering, power brakes, and a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The Hornet’s racing success helped establish Hudson’s reputation as a manufacturer of high-performance cars, and it remains an iconic American car to this day.
