Description
The 1980 Porsche 911 Turbo, also known as the 930, was a high-performance sports car produced by Porsche from 1975 to 1989. It was the first Porsche production car to feature a turbocharged engine, which provided a significant power boost over the naturally aspirated models. The 911 Turbo also featured wide fender flares to accommodate its wider tires, a rear spoiler, and a distinctive “whale tail” rear spoiler. The 3.3-liter flat-six engine produced 300 horsepower, which allowed the car to reach 60 mph in under 5 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph. The 1980 model year introduced an intercooler, which allowed for even higher performance. The 911 Turbo was a significant achievement for Porsche, as it established the company as a leader in high-performance sports cars and set the standard for turbocharged sports cars for years to come.
