Description
The Buick Regal GNX was a high-performance version of the Buick Regal, produced by General Motors’ Buick division from 1987 to 1987. The GNX, short for Grand National Experimental, was a limited-edition model, with only 547 units produced. The car was developed in partnership with McLaren Performance Technologies, with the aim of making it the fastest production car in America at the time.
The GNX was equipped with a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine that produced 276 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the fastest cars of its time. The car was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds, and could reach a top speed of 124 mph.
The GNX also featured a number of other performance enhancements, including an upgraded suspension system, a larger intercooler, a revised transmission, and a limited-slip differential. The car had a unique black paint job, with black trim and a special body kit that gave it a distinctive, aggressive look.
Despite its high performance, the GNX was also equipped with a number of luxury features, including power windows, power locks, and a premium sound system. The car was highly regarded by both critics and consumers, and is now considered a classic muscle car, with many enthusiasts seeking to add one to their collection.
