Description
The Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing is a two-seater sports car produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1954 to 1957. It is one of the most iconic cars of the 1950s and is known for its distinctive gull-wing doors. The car was designed by French engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut and was powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine that produced 215 horsepower. It was the fastest production car of its time, with a top speed of 161 miles per hour (259 km/h) and a 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time of just over 8 seconds. The 300 SL was also the first car to use a tubular space frame, which made it light and strong. Today, the 300 SL Gullwing is considered one of the most valuable and collectible cars in the world.
