Description
The Nissan R390 GT1 was a high-performance racing car designed and built by Nissan for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1997. It was powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V8 engine that produced 550 horsepower and had a top speed of over 220 mph. The car had a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and an aerodynamic body designed for high-speed stability. Nissan entered two R390 GT1 cars in the race, and although they did not win, they finished in 3rd and 5th place overall, marking Nissan’s most successful Le Mans result to date. The R390 GT1 was also featured in several racing video games, including Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport.
