Description
The Porsche 911 (996) Cabriolet was introduced in 1998 as the convertible version of the 996 generation of the 911. It featured a fully automatic convertible top and was available with a range of engines, including a 3.4-liter flat-six, a 3.6-liter flat-six, and a turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six. The 996 Cabriolet also had a revised suspension system and improved aerodynamics compared to its predecessor. It was produced until 2004 when it was replaced by the 997 generation of the 911. The 996 Cabriolet is notable for being the first 911 with a water-cooled engine and for its controversial “fried egg” headlight design.
