Description
The Porsche 911 Rally is a rally car version of the iconic Porsche 911 sports car that was introduced in the early 1960s. The 911 Rally was developed specifically for rallying and was used in numerous rally events throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The car featured a number of modifications for rally use, including increased ride height, wider wheels and tires, and a more powerful engine.
The Porsche 911 Rally was particularly successful in the East African Safari Rally, where it won the event in 1978 and 1979. It was also successful in other rally events, including the Monte Carlo Rally and the Acropolis Rally. Porsche eventually replaced the 911 Rally with the 911 SC Rally in the early 1980s. Today, the Porsche 911 Rally is a sought-after collector’s item among rally enthusiasts and Porsche enthusiasts alike.
