Description
The Porsche 928 was a luxury grand tourer produced by Porsche from 1977 to 1995. It was originally intended to replace the Porsche 911 as the company’s flagship sports car, but the 911 continued to be produced alongside the 928. The car was designed to be a comfortable long-distance cruiser with a powerful V8 engine and a rear-mounted transaxle for better weight distribution. The 928 featured innovative design elements such as a distinctive “shark nose” front end, pop-up headlights, and a luxurious interior with high-tech features like an onboard computer and air conditioning. Over the course of its production run, the 928 underwent several updates and revisions, including the addition of a more powerful engine, styling tweaks, and improved suspension and brakes. Despite its impressive performance and technological advancements, the 928 was never able to match the popularity or cult following of the 911, and production was eventually discontinued in 1995.
