Description
The Ford Mustang SVO was a high-performance version of the third-generation Mustang, produced from 1984 to 1986. The SVO was powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, which was the most powerful four-cylinder engine available in an American production car at the time. The engine produced 175 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, and was mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Mustang SVO also featured a number of performance upgrades, including a specially-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a limited-slip differential. The car also had a unique body kit and a distinctive hood with a functional hood scoop.
Despite its impressive performance, the Mustang SVO was only produced in limited numbers, with just over 9,800 units built over the course of its three-year production run. However, the SVO helped pave the way for future high-performance Mustang models, and is still considered a highly collectible and sought-after car by enthusiasts today.
