Description
The Audi R8 is a mid-engine, two-seater sports car produced by the German automaker Audi. The car was first introduced in 2006 and was based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car. The R8 was the first production car to feature LED headlights and a full LED lighting system. The first generation R8 was powered by a 4.2-liter V8 engine or a 5.2-liter V10 engine. In 2015, the second-generation R8 was introduced, featuring an updated design and improved performance. The new R8 was again available with a V10 engine, but also introduced an electric version, the R8 e-tron, which was only produced in limited numbers. The R8 has received widespread critical acclaim for its design, performance, and handling, and has been used as a safety car in the FIA Formula E Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
